I first dabbled in yoga about 19 years ago, but it didn’t stick.
Then, 6 years later I went to a class at my local gym purely for the fact it was included in my membership and my sister suggested we go. I wasn’t overly excited, but my sister is very persuasive and I thought “Oh well, at least I’ll get a good stretch in after my boxing class.”
So, off to yoga I went.
This time something was different; there were parts of the practice I was still unsure about, parts I liked and parts I didn’t but in amongst these mixed feelings my heart told me to go back the next week.
There was a magic lighting up inside me and I didn’t even realise it. Yoga became part of my weekly gym routine and slowly, but surely, the magic was starting to cross over into the other forms of exercise I was doing and into my life off the mat.
Then the unthinkable happened…my teacher left. I was shattered. Yoga stopped for me, but not for long. I quickly noticed my life was missing something; my life was missing something more than just stretching.
I found a yoga studio and a new teacher.
My love of yoga continued, and little did I know the journey was only just beginning. Once my passion for mindful movement was ignited, I kept wanting more. And, with that, countless lessons were waiting to be discovered.
I may be a teacher but I will always be a student first.
I am excited to share all that I’ve learnt through my mindful movement practices and life with you and, what's more I’m excited for all that I still have to learn alongside you.
